Faculty for the Future Fellowship 2027–2028

The Schlumberger Foundation's Faculty for the Future programme funds women from low- and middle-income countries to do a PhD or post-doctoral research in a STEM discipline at a strong research university abroad. The 2027–2028 round opened on 1 September 2026 and closes on 7 November 2026.

Cameroon is on the eligible-country list. The Foundation lists 103 low- and middle-income countries in total — check your own country on the applications page before you start.

What you get

• Up to USD 50,000 a year for PhD study, up to USD 40,000 a year for post-doctoral research
• Tuition and bench fees, accommodation, a living allowance, medical insurance
• Initial travel and visa costs, and conference expenses
• A child-care grant of up to USD 3,000 a year per child under 6 (USD 1,500 for ages 6–15), at the Foundation's discretion

Funding is renewed year by year on academic progress and references — it is not automatic.

Who it is for

• Women only
• PhD or post-doctoral level. Master's study is not funded.
• You must already be enrolled in, admitted to, or have applied to a host university or research institute abroad
• An excellent academic record, teaching experience, and a clear record of encouraging girls and women into STEM
• You must intend to return to your home country to teach and build the research base there

How to apply Applications are taken only through the Foundation's online system, linked from the applications page. The Foundation does not print an application cut-off time, so treat the deadline as end of day on 7 November 2026 and submit well before it.
