About this opportunity
The GitHub Student Developer Pack gives verified students free access to professional developer tools that would otherwise be unaffordable.
The pack currently carries more than fifty offers. The ones most likely to matter to you are GitHub Pro, GitHub Copilot, and GitHub Codespaces at Pro level - a cloud development environment that runs in the browser and removes the need for a powerful laptop. Also included are free JetBrains IDEs, Microsoft 365, Notion, and learning subscriptions such as DataCamp, Scrimba and FrontendMasters. Several offers cover free domain names, which is useful if you want a portfolio site.
Eligibility is straightforward: be at least thirteen, be enrolled in a degree- or diploma-granting programme, and hold a GitHub account. Secondary school counts.
Verification is the step that trips people up. You must upload dated proof of current enrolment - a school ID showing the current date, your class schedule, a transcript, or a signed enrolment letter from your institution. Access continues while you remain a student, and most offers must be claimed individually.
