Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) — August 2027 intake

SINGA is a bond-free PhD award run jointly by Singapore's A*STAR research agency and the country's universities — NUS, NTU, SUTD, SMU and SIT. It funds doctoral (PhD) and EngD research in science and engineering, and it is open to international students of any nationality, Cameroon included.

Deadline: 1 December 2026 — the close of the window for the August 2027 intake. A*STAR does not print a cut-off time, so treat it as end of day and submit early. (The next window, for the January 2028 intake, then runs 2 December 2026 to 1 June 2027.)

What you get

• S$2,700 a month (S$32,400 a year), rising to S$3,200 a month (S$38,400 a year) once you pass your qualifying exam
• A one-time settling-in allowance of S$1,000
• A one-time airfare grant of S$1,500
• Bond-free — no obligation to work in Singapore afterwards

Who can apply

• International students who are not Singapore citizens or permanent residents and have not studied in Singapore before
• Excellent undergraduate and/or master's results and a genuine interest in doctoral research
• GRE, IELTS, TOEFL, SAT and GATE results are not required for the SINGA application, though your host university may ask for an English test later at admission

Cost to apply None. A*STAR states plainly that there is no application fee for SINGA.
