Tuition is USD 30,900 a year all-inclusive, and ALA states 97% of its students receive financial assistance, sized to what a family can contribute

About this opportunity
ALA takes African teenagers out of their national school system for two years and puts them through a residential pre-university programme outside Johannesburg, built around entrepreneurial leadership and African studies alongside a standard academic curriculum.
Cameroonians are eligible. ALA runs pan-African admissions and states plainly that nationality is never a ground for exclusion, though it publishes no country list, so treat it as an open call rather than a named entitlement.
The hard cut-off is age: you must have been born on or after 1 September 2007. ALA says age is the single factor that will exclude a candidate outright.
The practical catch is money. Sticker price is USD 30,900 a year, and while 97% of students receive assistance, the size of your award is decided only after you are admitted and is based on what ALA judges your family can pay. You apply first and discuss money later.
This card counts down to the Early Decision deadline of 15 October 2026. Applying early buys you an earlier answer, not a better chance — ALA says so itself. The final Regular Decision deadline is 15 January 2027.
