About this opportunity
Africa No Filter funds African storytellers to spend a year reporting on the things that sit underneath the climate story — debt, gender, fossil fuel deals — and how they land on real communities.
What you get. Up to USD 4,000. Between 15 and 20 storytellers are selected for the twelve-month programme.
Who it is for. Journalists, content creators, podcasters, vloggers, muralists and data visualisers aged 18 and over. Your platform must have been active and highly engaged for more than a year; content creators need at least 5,000 combined followers across their social channels.
Eligible countries. Mozambique, Uganda, Nigeria, Angola, Chad, Republic of Congo, Tanzania, South Sudan, Malawi and Zambia.
Cameroon is not on this year's list. Africa No Filter runs several other calls with different country sets, so it is worth watching africanofilter.org for the next one.
Deadline. 25 September 2026 at 6:00 p.m. GMT — 7:00 p.m. in Cameroon. Applications go through Africa No Filter's Submittable portal, linked from the programme page.
