About this opportunity
Australian Catholic University funds research master's and PhD candidates twice a year. Round 2 of the 2026 competition closes on 1 October 2026 and leads to a July research term start for international students (February for domestic students).
What it is worth. A stipend of AUD 34,315 a year full-time — the 2026 figure, indexed each year — plus a tuition fee offset worth roughly AUD 34,728 a year. Together that is about AUD 68,043 a year. International scholars also receive one-off allowances of up to AUD 2,000 towards overseas health cover and relocation.
Who can apply. Both domestic and international candidates. You must be applying for, or enrolled in, an accredited ACU research degree, and your proposed research has to sit inside one of ACU's established research strengths — so find the institute or school first and line up a supervisor before you write anything else.
How it works. Prospective students apply for the scholarship as part of the research degree admission process; you do not send a separate form. Current ACU students download the application from the Student Portal and send it to the Graduate Research School.
Deadline. 1 October 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Australian Eastern Standard Time. The card converts that to UTC because Togeva does not carry an Australian time zone — in Cameroon that is 2:59 p.m. on 1 October.
Selection is competitive and merit-based, so the supervisor conversation matters as much as the paperwork. Start it now rather than in the last fortnight.
