Berea College Tuition-Free Admission 2027

Berea College in Kentucky charges no tuition to any admitted student. International students receive aid covering 100% of tuition, housing, food and fees, with no loans, for all four years. Personal spending money is earned through Berea's required campus labour programme.

Who can apply

• Undergraduate, Bachelor's degree only. Fall entry only — Berea does not admit international students for spring.
• No country restriction — Cameroonian students are eligible.
• The application is free.

Be realistic about the odds. Berea admits fewer than 40 new international students a year, from more than 70 countries, and states it is rare for more than one student from any country to be offered admission in a year. This is one of the most competitive undergraduate routes on this board.

The one real cost: admitted international students must pay a USD 2,200 deposit to confirm enrolment and receive the I-20. This is not waived by the aid package. Airfare is also not stated as covered. Plan for both before you apply.

What you submit: transcripts, recommendations, and standardised test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, ACT or Duolingo).

Dates: all application components are due by 30 November for the following Fall term — 30 November 2026 for Fall 2027 entry. Berea publishes no time of day. Decisions come mid-March, and you commit by 1 May.
