About this opportunity
Hokkaido University's Graduate School of Engineering (the e3 programme) nominates international students for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship under University Recommendation, for the intake starting October 2027. Seven places are available: 3 master's and 4 doctoral.
What it covers
- Examination, entrance and tuition fees waived
- Monthly stipend of about ¥144,000 (master's) / ¥145,000 (doctoral) — marked tentative by the university
- Return air ticket to and from Japan
Who can apply
- Nationals of any country with diplomatic relations with Japan — Cameroon qualifies. Japanese nationals are not eligible.
- Born on or after 2 April 1992 (34 or younger at 1 April 2027)
- Bachelor's degree (16 years of education) for master's; master's degree for doctoral
- Good or above-average grades, roughly 3.0/4.0 or 80%
Fields: the 13 divisions of the Graduate School of Engineering — mechanical engineering, materials science, applied physics, civil engineering, environmental and resource engineering, architecture and design.
