About this opportunity

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung — the political foundation linked to Germany's Christian Democratic Union — funds international students and doctoral candidates studying at German universities, and pairs the money with a seminar and mentoring programme.

Deadline: 15 July, 12:00 noon CET, every year (11:00 UTC). The next one is 15 July 2027. This is the domestic selection procedure; regional interviews have been held in cities including Nairobi.

What you get

  • Bachelor's, Master's and postgraduate students: up to €992 a month
  • Doctoral candidates: up to €1,400 a month
  • Standard funding: two years for Bachelor's and Master's study, three years for a doctorate
  • Access to KAS's seminar programme and its alumni network

Who can apply

  • Primarily non-EU international students at German universities. Bachelor's applicants can apply from their second semester onwards.
  • German at B2 level or above is required. Start on this early — it is the single biggest barrier for African applicants.
  • KAS looks for well above-average academic results and a demonstrated commitment to democracy, human rights and the values the foundation stands for
  • No age limit is stated and there is no application fee
  • No country is excluded, so Cameroonian students can apply — but check the current call for any country-specific arrangements

How to apply Through the KAS Campus portal at campus.kas.de. Questions go to stipendium-if@kas.de.

Because this deadline repeats every year, it is also worth noting for 2026 if you are already in Germany and ready now — but the round this card tracks is 15 July 2027.
