About this opportunity

The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a merit-and-need award from the university itself, for non-EU/EEA students admitted to a UT Master's programme starting September 2027. Twente is a technical university in Enschede, strong in engineering, computer science, applied physics, water and environmental management, and business and governance — all taught in English.

Deadline: 1 April 2027, 16:00 CET. That is a hard cut-off — the application form closes automatically.

What you get

  • Between €3,000 and €22,000 for the first year, sized to your programme and circumstances
  • Two-year Master's programmes can receive matching second-year funding if you meet the performance requirements

This is a contribution, not a full ride. Work out how you will cover the remaining tuition and your living costs in the Netherlands before you commit.

Who can apply

  • Non-EU/EEA nationals only. Dutch citizens, EU/EEA citizens and current UT students are excluded.
  • Twente's eligible-country list runs to roughly 190 countries and names Cameroon
  • IELTS Academic 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90, with at least 6.0 (TOEFL 20) in speaking
  • No age limit, no application fee

Order of operations — this matters You must first apply for admission to a qualifying UT Master's and hold a provisional or full offer. Only then can you submit the scholarship form. Start the admission application months ahead of 1 April, not weeks.

The scholarship form is at utwente.nl.
