About this opportunity

The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship pays for a master's degree in a development-related subject at one of a fixed list of participating universities around the world.

It is not aimed at fresh graduates. To qualify you need a bachelor's degree earned at least three years before the deadline, and at least three years of paid, development-related work - government, NGO, public health, agriculture, education policy and similar all count. For most Cameroonian applicants that means applying in your late twenties or thirties rather than straight out of university.

Cameroon is confirmed on the 2027 eligible country list. You cannot hold dual citizenship of a developed country.

The programme runs two application windows each year and they cover different sets of universities, so check which window your target programme sits in before you plan. Window 1 runs 18 January to 26 February 2027, which is the date this card counts down to. Window 2 runs 29 March to 21 May 2027.

You generally need to be pursuing or already holding admission to a participating master's programme, so start that admission process well before the window opens. No closing time of day is published.
