Imperial College London President's PhD Scholarships 2027–28

Imperial College London is offering 50 President's PhD Scholarships for 2027-28, open to talented candidates from any country, including African applicants.

What you get

• Full tuition fees
• A stipend of £27,036 a year (2027-28 rate)
• £2,000 a year for research consumables for the first 3 years
• Access to Imperial's Early Career Researcher Institute

How to apply There is no separate scholarship form.

1. Find an Imperial supervisor who is willing to take you on
2. Submit a standard PhD application through Imperial's admissions system
3. Select the President's PhD Scholarship option in the funding section
4. Include a 2-page personal statement: page 1 your motivation, page 2 your research proposal

Departments nominate their strongest candidates to a College selection panel. Some departments may be limited in how many international candidates they can support, so check with your supervisor.

Deadlines (all 23:59 UK time)

• Round 1: 2 November 2026 (results by 31 January 2027)
• Round 2: 11 January 2027
• Round 3: 1 March 2027
