What it is
The Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) is ETH Zurich's flagship award for incoming master's students. Around 60 scholarships are granted each year.
What it covers
- CHF 13,500 per semester as a study and living stipend (rate from HS27)
- A full tuition-fee waiver for the whole duration of the master's
Who can apply
- Entering a master's programme at ETH Zurich (MAS programmes excluded)
- A very good bachelor's result — top 10% of your programme, grade A
- Not already enrolled in a master's programme and not already holding a master's degree
How to apply
The application window is 1–30 November 2026, closing at 23:59 CET, for a master's starting in autumn 2027. Apply through eApply, ETH's online master's application, and include a pre-proposal for your master's thesis plus two reference letters from professors.
Decisions are communicated by the end of March.
