Science Tokyo MEXT Scholarship 2027 — IGP(A)

The Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology) recommends outstanding international applicants to its Integrated Doctoral Education Program, IGP(A), for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship under University Recommendation, starting Fall 2027.

What it covers

• Enrolment fee and tuition waived
• Monthly stipend of ¥147,000 (master's) / ¥148,000 (doctoral)
• Air tickets to and from Japan, under MEXT's conditions
• The ¥30,000 examination fee is waived or reimbursed for MEXT scholars

Who can apply

• Nationals of any country with diplomatic relations with Japan — Cameroon qualifies
• In principle 34 or younger as of 1 April of the first year
• Minimum GPA 2.30 / 3.00
• Science and engineering fields only (medicine and dentistry excluded)

Structure: a combined master's + doctoral programme of 3–5 years, delivered through five schools, covering mathematics, physics, chemistry, earth and planetary sciences, mechanical, electrical and electronic, information and communications, industrial, materials, chemical, life science, architecture and civil engineering.

Dates: applications run 9 September to 22 November 2026, 23:59 JST. Results are notified on 3 March 2027.
